Who is behind Me The Tiger?
ME THE TIGER is Gabriella Åström (vocals and synth), Tobias Andersson (synths & guitar) and Jonas Martinsson (drums). We’re from Falun, Sweden.

How would you describe your music?
Energetic sequencers, power chords, driving rhythms and emotional vocals. Electronic music with a touch of pop, rock and punk.

What´s the special of the Band?
That we’re an electronic act from Falun, Sweden. That’s unique. In Falun there’s only metal heads.

What would you like to achieve with your songs?
Some kind of emotionally reaction. In good or bad. We mostly do pretty energetic and danceable songs, which (mostly) makes people want to make a move. Which is good. But since our lyrics strive for a change, we also want to make people think. We don’t want to preach our message, but it’s nice to use music to make people maybe revalue some valuations. Or maybe more important; to strengthen them.

Why did you started with making music?
I personally wanted to be Kurt Cobain. That’s all.

Which bands had an effect on your creativity?
I guess I have some kind of base in the 90´s when I write music. I grew up together with bands like Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, The Prodigy and The Cure and I think that it still makes a big impression of what I’m doing. On top of that I think you can find some Crystal Castles, The Naked and Famous and Ladytron as well. I listen (almost) to all kind of music and finds inspiration from a lot of music that doesn’t sounds like ME THE TIGER at all.

What kind of music you listen to at home, on the road or by doing sports?
As I said above, I listen to a lot of different kind of bands or artists. It’s the variety that makes music so fantastic. My Spotify-playlists are a mash up from hardcore to commercial pop music. Right now I’m very into the Swedish punk act Hurula. Great music.

2015-6-mt-4Wishes for the future? Which goals you have? What´s the next? Tour? Studio? Something completly different?
This summer we will do festival and club gigs in Europe, which will be really cool. Something we wanted to do for a long time. Beside that we are working on our new album. We are also re-released our debut album physically worldwide at the end of April. It was only released digitally in Scandinavia before, so it’s nice that the songs can reach out to a wider audience this time.

A band has to pass many ups and downs. So what was the absolutly highlight in the past and what the bitter low-point?
The highlight so far was probably our gig at the fantastic Swedish festival Electronic Summer last year or when we played in front of over 10.000 people in our hometown Falun during the Ski World Championship.
We don’t have any bitter low-points.
