Was die Band ausmacht und was sie für die Zukunft planen, erfahrt ihr hier bei uns:

Who is behind Saigon Blue Rain?
Ophelia and Franck. We mainly compose together, we don’t have a precise way to create nor precise roles, each one brings something as soon as an idea emerge.

How would you describe your music?
We could say that our music is gothic with hints of color and light in a global dark universe, Drawing its personality from subjects such as esotericism, flight of time, forces of Nature or still destructive passions, our music invites the listener through its compositions, to a journey in places where the rational fades in front of the musing and the self abnegation.

What´s the special of the Band?
Even if we are putted in a kind of music or another by press people, our goal is not to make pure Coldwave or Ethereal wave, we just want to create a universe tinted with all the things we love and if we can share it with any people, it’s a great satisfaction for us.

What would you like to achieve with your songs?
We are trying to make music that takes people to other horizons, to escape from the everyday life. Our songs invite to introspection.

Why did you started making music?
Because we don’t like sport. (smiling)

Which bands had an effect on your creativity?
The Cure is one of our biggest influences, but we’re also influenced a lot by bands like And also the trees, Crime and the City Solution, The Chameleons, Bat For Lashes, Dum Dum Girls, Anathema, Wovenhand, Alcest… A lot of bands in different styles.

What kind of music you listen to at home, on the road or by doing sports?
All that we mentionned above, plus lots of other stuff like metal, jazz, electro, classical or hip-hop.

Ophelia & FranckWishes for the future? Which goals you have? What´s the next? Tour? Studio? Something completly different?
We are just at the very beginning of the Cold spring tour for the moment so nowadays, our time is dedicated to rehearsals. We’re very excited to meet our German audience, it will be the first time we’ll play there and we hope that we’ll be as good received as we’ve been in England.
In parallel of our future gigs, we’re on the composition of a new album that we’ll try to release for next winter if time permit it us. And as always, we’re planning to find a maximum of gigs (which is not simple) ‚cause our album needs to be played live to exist and it’s important for us to feel the osmose with our audience. These live moments are the best part of our job.

A band has to pass many ups and downs. So what was the absolutly highlight in the past and what the bitter low-point?
The bitter low point is the difficulty to make its way in the gothic scene as a new band not playing typical goth rock in the manner of Sisters of Mercy.
The highlights are when you’re on stage and you feel the osmose with the audiance. It was one of those great moment last year at the Sacrosant festival in UK.

What´s the first thought by reading this words?
Music : « After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music. » Aldous Huxley
Childhood : Dreams, fairytales, imaginary and related themes that are recurrent in our songs.
Gig : Best drug ever, either you’re in the audiance or on stage.
Home : One of the best Depeche Mode song.
